From Paint to Pixels
What changes when a painter moves from canvas to an iPad?
In this online talk, Dizzywalker explores how traditional painting skills can carry into digital work and how technology can become part of an artist’s practice without replacing the artistic decisions behind the work.
Drawing on her own experience of working both with paint and digitally, she will look at colour, layering, texture, composition and the process of developing an image on screen. The talk will also consider some of the assumptions surrounding digital painting and the idea that the value of an artwork should be judged by the finished work rather than simply by the tool used to create it.
The session is intended for artists and anyone interested in the relationship between art and technology. No digital painting experience is required.
