Bert Vangerven creates sculpture, assemblage and mixed-media work from metal, glass, wood, plaster and found materials.

Bert Vangerven works across sculpture, assemblage, painting and mixed media. He is drawn to plaster, glass, metal and wood, often combining them with found and discarded materials collected for their texture, history or unexpected potential.

For Vangerven, art has become a second language through which feelings, dreams, experiences and events can take physical form. He continually explores new materials and techniques, allowing objects that might otherwise be overlooked to gain a second life in the studio. His training has included glass art, welding, sculpture, stone carving, drawing and painting.
