Christine Scheire paints and draws with a focus on people, emotion, dreamlike atmosphere and the calm of making.

Christine Scheire has always enjoyed drawing and later returned to painting when she had more space to develop her creativity. A visit to Atelier Suzy in Nevele rekindled a long-held ambition and brought painting back into the centre of her life.

She works with acrylic, oil, gouache and mixed media, and draws in graphite, charcoal and pastel. People, emotion and dreamlike states are recurring themes. Just as important is the act of painting itself, which gives her a focused space in which the noise of daily life falls away.
