Etienne Rombauts

Etienne Rombauts works across oil, acrylic, watercolour and sculpture, moving between portraiture, still life, landscape and abstraction.

After a busy professional career, Etienne Rombauts enrolled in painting at the Academy of Visual Arts in Wetteren. His practice includes oil and acrylic on canvas, watercolour and sculpture.

Portraiture is an area he particularly enjoys and continues to study, but he deliberately avoids limiting himself to one subject. Still life, landscape and abstract work all remain part of his practice, chosen according to interest and inspiration. He completed five years of painting and two specialisation years in Wetteren and later added ceramics training.
