Ann Marien

Ann Marien works with wool, silk and felt, drawing inspiration from nature, imagination and the small magic of everyday life.

Ann Marien first encountered wool, silk and felting through a Steiner school around two decades ago. What began as a discovery developed into an intensive textile practice centred on the tactile qualities of fibre, colour and handwork.

She completed a three-year programme at the Viltacademie Vrouw Wolle in Essen and continues to follow masterclasses. Nature, everyday encounters and imaginative worlds inspire her felt work. For Marien, transforming wool is a slow, attentive process that connects softness, warmth and making in the present moment.
