Jan Heylen, also known as Jean Fix, is a self-taught glass artist. He describes creativity as something that comes from an open mind and active hands, and sees the clarity of glass and light as a natural way to express it.

His practice is grounded in experimentation and learning by doing. The transparency, reflection and illumination of glass allow each work to change with its surroundings, making light an active part of the composition.
