Mieke Geltmeyer

Mieke Geltmeyer follows the feeling of the moment through painting, ceramics and an experimental studio practice.

During her professional career as an optician, Mieke Geltmeyer remained closely connected to art and regularly gave artists space to show work in her business. After retiring, she was able to give her own creativity more room.

A move to Kalken also gave her a dedicated studio where she can experiment freely with painting and ceramics. Geltmeyer describes art as following the feeling of the moment. Largely self-taught, she has supplemented her practice through courses and free academies in Ghent and Zele.
