Chris De Mol creates ceramic figures with simplified forms, a quiet elegance and an emphasis on harmony.

Chris De Mol works in ceramics and has developed a personal language of simple, slightly stylised figures, often female. The work grew from years of experimenting with different clays, materials, forms and colours.

Starting from a block of clay, De Mol looks for a balance between control and the material's own character. Each sculpture becomes both a creative challenge and a meditative process, with elegance, harmony and a continuing search for refinement at its centre.
