Arno Amandt

Arno Amandt explores portraiture, landscape and the encounter between artist, subject and viewer.

Arno Amandt approaches art as a form of research. His practice moves between painting, drawing and digital work, using acrylic, water-mixable oil, pen and ink, and pastel. Portraits and landscapes are central to his work.

In his portraits, Amandt is interested in the exchange of gazes between artist, sitter and viewer. A personal encounter with the subject becomes part of the finished work, turning observation into a quiet conversation. He studied at LUCA School of Arts in Ghent and continues to expand his practice through new materials and techniques.
