Abé Herman

After a long career as an art glazier, Abé Herman now works across watercolour, stained glass and bronze sculpture.

After 39 years as an art glazier, Abé Herman turned his focus increasingly toward sculpture, while continuing to work with drawing, watercolour and stained glass. His bronze works combine a robust material presence with careful detail and expressive movement.

Ballet and animals are recurring subjects. In his ballet sculptures, he looks closely at posture, costume, gesture and the physical discipline behind graceful movement. His work has been shown in Belgium and abroad, and his training includes the academies of Aalst and Ghent.
